Golf Properties In The Med - Does It Have To Be Spain Or Portugal?
The growing propensity for British and other North European golfers to seek golf properties in sunnier climes has resulted in a dramatic increase in the number of golf courses and associated real estate developments being constructed around the Mediterranean and in Portugal.
Most famous amongst these are probably the superb Vale do Lobo complex near Faro in Portugal and La Manga, just south of Alicante in Spain.
But whilst there can be no denying that these two resorts, along with the opulent Sun City in South Africa, represent the cream of golf resorts in the sun, real estate in and around these venues has experienced a simply phenomenal growth in values and does come with a rather hefty price-tag attached.
These days of course, golf properties of any description represent a healthy investment potential due to the exclusive nature and scenic surroundings of most golf resorts. And so, most prospective buyers looking for a golfing investment in the sun are trooping to Spain and Portugal in search of the perfect property, when other locations still offer far better value for money, as well as a much greater potential returns on invested capital.
One such location is the Republic of Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.
With only four fully-fledged courses currently operating on the island, the sport is still very much in its infancy in Cyprus. However, having recognised the growing demand for golf properties, the Cypriot government, in association with the CTO (Cyprus Tourism Organisation) have given the green light for the construction of a further eleven to fourteen golf courses alongside the already existing facilities in an effort to firmly establish Cyprus place on the international golfing circuit.
Whilst this construction programme of new courses is spread right across the whole Republic, its crowning glory must surely be the Secret Valley Golf Course and country club near the fabled Rock of Aphrodite on the islands west coast.
first opened in 1996, two years after the Tsada golf course north of Paphos, secret Valley has been a favourite part of the Cypriot golfing scene for many years. In light of the forthcoming expansion plans for golf in the Republic of Cyprus however, the secret Valley resort has become the subject of a huge expansion programme which, once complete, even the likes of Vale do Lobo and La Manga will struggle to compete with.
Aside from the complete remodelling of the existing course, secret Valley will see the construction of a further two 18-hole courses, as well as a par-3 pitch & putt course, golf academy, practice greens, multiple driving ranges, football & tennis academies and a host of other associated amenities.
Accompanying secret Valleys ambitious course expansion programme is the construction of many exclusive golf properties, ranging from hilltop villas overlooking one or more of the splendid courses to apartments set on the hillsides above the newly remodelled clubhouse.
Property prices in the resort do of course reflect its exclusive nature, but they are - as yet - far lower than their equivalents in Spain, Portugal and South Africa. Most experts and analysts do however predict that real estate in and around the secret Valley golf resort is amongst the finest property investments currently to be found in the Republic of Cyprus.
As you can see, when it comes to golf properties in the Med, it does not necessarily have to be Spain or Portugal. In fact, the smart money is in Cyprus.

Wireless Access Points: Power over Ethernet
PoE gives you the freedom of installing wireless access points anywhere a ethernet cable will go. Before power over ethernet was available a wireless access point always had to be near a power outlet to give it power. This meant more money and usually bad placement.
PoE uses a device called a power injector to transfer the correct amount of power required to run the wireless access point. PoE uses the two unused wireless in a ethernet cable to run the power. Gigabit ethernet uses all the wires in an ethernet cable thus PoE is not available for Gigabit ethernet. Each client device that meets the standards of the PoE 802.3af amendment will be assigned a power class of 0-3 which will mandate how many watts they need. Often your wireless access point will be managed by a switch that will double as a PoE injector.
wireless access point placement is a major key for good security, both physical and wireless. If you are using a Fat access point which is located near a common power outlet or easily in reach of employees all it takes is a paper clip to reset the access point and your network has been hacked. Also placement is a major concern because if you install a wireless access point on the perimeter walls of you office you have just sent half you signal out side to the war driver passing by.
Remember when coming up with your wireless network budget do not let anyone say we dont need PoE. Compromising on placement of your access points will cost you security and money in the long run.

3 Quick and Easy Pre-Yoga Stretching Techniques
All muscles tend to tighten up when idle, particularly the long muscles in your legs, back, and the sides of your body between your hips and your armpits. sitting for a long time in the same position at a desk or bench will often stiffen neck or shoulder muscles. Such stiffness creates tension in the body and can even influence your state of mind. But the most common danger of stiff muscles is that sudden movement that may cause damage. The following are some popular stretchers:
bend and Sway
With your feet apart and your hands on your hips, bend the upper body to the left; then bend back as far as you can go, then to the right, and then forward. bend to the left again and repeat. After several bends, reverse direction and do several more. You should feel the muscles stretching on both sides of your body. Clasping your hands behind your neck or above your head will increase the stretching benefit.
From the same starting position as above, sway, do not rotate, from one side to the other. Extending the arms high above the head will give you maximum benefit.
Wing Flaps
To loosen the shoulder muscles, stand with your elbows out and your fists together in front of you about neck high. Your forearms should be parallel to the floor. Slowly pull your fists apart, and bring your elbows back as far as they will go. Do several smooth repetitions. Raising or lowering the level of your arms will spread the stretch up and down your shoulders. Some other good stretchers include the bend, the groin stretch, the propeller, and the cobra.
bend
begin with your feet together and knees straight but relaxed. bend slowly form the waist with your fingers pointing to your toes and your head bowed. When you have reached the farthest you can hold for 10 seconds. Then rise very slowly to a straight-up position. Repeat. If the muscles along the back of your legs are very tight, do not expect to touch your toes right away. Just make sure that those leg muscles get a good stretch, and you will enjoy daily improvements.
Variation 1: bend slowly forward and clasp your hand hands behind your legs. Pull your body down slowly by bending your elbows out.
Variation 2: Clasp your hands behind your legs even lower than in variation 1. Pull your body down slowly.
For both variations, hold for 10 seconds.

Internet Phone Service 101
In this article I'm going to explain Internet phone service in simple terms. Hopefully this will help you make an informed decision about whether or not Internet phone service might be for you.
Let's start with some definitions
Very often you'll see Internet phone service referred to by an acronym: VoIP. What this stands for is "voice over Internet protocol."
"Protocol" is another word for "rules." So Internet protocols are the rules and technologies that make the Internet possible. It's a collection of all the rules that everyone follows so that equipment from one vendor is able to communicate just fine with equipment from another vendor.
In brief, Internet protocol says that you take multiple data transmissions (like emails), break them into pieces (or "packets") and send them along multiple different lines simultaneously. The information is then reassembled at the end and brought to the receiver in the proper way so that it can be easily understood. This means more speed, efficiency, lower costs -- and a tremendous amount of upside expansion capability.
Here's how Internet protocol makes Internet phone service possible
In the old days, you were connected to the person you're talking to buy a copper wire. Your conversation with this other person took up the entire wire -- nobody else could use it. This is not very efficient. And as demand for phone service went up, capacity could not keep up with the demand. The phone companies literally could not string enough copper wire fast enough.
The solution? Send the voice messaging using Internet protocols -- VoIP.
The owners of these networks realized that they could attract new customers for their networks by offering Internet telephone service that saved money on local and long-distance calling. And of course the telephone companies themselves branched out with this service as well.
So that's how it works.
now let's see if we can answer some questions that will help you make an informed decision about whether Internet phone services are for you.
Here's how you can take advantage of Internet phone service
There are couple of ways you can go. One way is to bundle your Internet phone along with your Internet service and your cable TV. If you live in an area where this is available that could be a cost-saving solution for you depending on how much you are spending now.
You can also contact your existing phone company to see if they offer Internet phone services.
A third option is to go with an independent Internet phone service company. There are many vendors out there, e.g., Skype, Packet8, and VoIP.com. And these are just a few of the popular Internet phone services out there. Be careful, however, because there's been a shakeout in the market. Vonage and SunRocket are two companies that recently suffered setbacks and there may be more before the shakeout ends and consolidation takes over.
Will you need a special phone line?
No, but you will need to have your own high-speed Internet connection. And unless you opt to go with a PC-to-PC or PC-to-phone plan, you will need to have an adapter to sit between your phone and the Internet connection. Once you've done that, you're good to go as far as hardware is concerned.
conclusion
Hopefully we've answered some of the most urgent questions that you may have had about Internet phone service. I would encourage you to a look around in your area and find out who the providers are, what their plans entail, and then make an informed decision on your own.
